Why Do We Vote?

This election is more than just about choosing one candidate over another. It’s about protecting our communities and fighting against the system that has failed us.

In a single year, we’ve been struck by a global pandemic, had record breaking-wildfires, and seen evidence of racial and gender-based inequalities in society. Now, it is more important than ever to vote for the 2020 elections, because so much is at stake.

So, why exactly do we vote?

Because mother Earth is trying to catch her last breath.
Because Black lives matter.
Because activism is more than just a black screen.
Because children are locked up in cages.
Because no one’s love should feel like a crime.
Because people deserve to have control over their own bodies.
Because there was a time when we couldn’t vote.
And because voter suppression still exists today.

So vote like your life depends on it. Because for millions of people, it does.
